Our paths first intertwined in the world of high school choir. Initially, neither of us wanted to join, but our older siblings convinced us, and Sam admits he'd also heard it was a good place to meet girls. As a soprano and a bass, we were on opposite sides of the room, making it easy to steal glances at one another.

We began talking more on a school trip to Disneyland, sitting together and laughing the entire drive. During the trip, Sam cleverly asked Gigi for her streaming login to watch the Warriors' first playoff game of 2015. Gigi's sudden, and perhaps strategic, interest in Sam’s Warriors obsession grew into months of nonstop conversation and a few timely dates.

Gigi had just graduated high school and was preparing for college hours away. It seemed we were headed for a summer fling, with the daunting prospect of a long-distance relationship looming. For a few months, we tried being just friends, but realized we couldn’t be in each other’s lives without a deeper commitment. On the night of November 22, 2015, Sam told Gigi, “We go all in, either right now or never.” Gigi’s immediate response was, “Right now.” From that moment on, our bond has only grown stronger.

Now, ten years from the beginning of our story, we're overjoyed to celebrate this milestone anniversary by becoming husband and wife.
